Even before CISA3 was officially announced, researchers began the center's first field project in Florence, to run a diagnostic survey of a Da Vinci masterpiece. The center also forged a partnership with the San Diego Museum of Art that could make the southern California institution a pioneer in its industry. And at the February 2007 launch, CISA3 announced a landmark agreement to study one of the most important structures of the Renaissance.
