Initial funding for CISA3 came from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) division of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2), as well as the university's Jacobs School of Engineering and its Division of Arts & Humanities. Subsequent funding from the Legler Benbough Foundation and other donors has allowed CISA3 to launch numerous important projects, and the Center is collaborating with a range of other partners -- including private corporations, cultural institutions and government entitities -- in order to undertake its ambitious agenda.
